I used to be deep into yoga, meditation and Eastern spiritual practices, including multiple trips to India and ashram living. These 3 examples are from a project I did with my wife Kate on vocals and sung in the ancient Sanskrit language, the oldest language on earth. For Gayatri Mantra my challenge was to stay true to the way it was chanted in its traditional form for literally thousands and thousands of years, so for the entire song the vocal melody is the same 3 tones. I just wrapped it in some contemporary musical packaging for the“Western” yogis.
