Lead Sheet and Arranging Service
Need a chord chart or lead sheet written for a recording session or for your band?  I write professional quality chord charts of existing tunes or of your original music.
 These can be as simple or as detailed as you like with;

  1. Words only with chord symbols written above the words. 
  2. Chord symbols, with or without melody written in standard notation, form of song, repeats, key etc. This is the classic ‘lead sheet” most commonly used on jazz gigs.
  3. Lead sheet plus additional detailed parts for individual instruments with more relevant information and traditional notation ie specific melodies and/or basslines etc.
Fee: $80 per hour

Demo And Practice Recordings  
I’m happy to record  simple versions of your songs for you to practise with or play as a guide for your bandmates.

Songwriting
One-on-one songwriting sessions are also available. If you have partial or incomplete ideas for your original songs, vocal or instrumentals in any style or genre I can help you with melodic and/chord suggestions, song form (ie the “roadmap”) and structure and writing out a completed chart.  Find that mystery chord, find the perfect key for your vocal range, work out introductions and endings, add new melodic or instrumental sections, write full songs from scratch or just introduce some fresh ideas and finishing touches and give feedback for your existing song.

This is one of my absolute favourite things to do and whatever level of completion your song and your musical skills are at is ok with me. From three chord folk tunes, rock and jazz music, I love it all. We can find the notes and chords you’re looking for. This service is available for complete novices to seasoned pros seeking some fresh ideas.

Bass Lessons
I’m available for one-off or weekly lessons, either in person or by Skype.  The Skype lessons have been working way better than I originally expected. I write any relevant exercises or notes during the lesson and then scan and email them back to the student at the end of the lesson if necessary. If I need to demonstrate a particular technique I simply pick up my own bass the same as an in-person lesson. You can even set your computer up to do screen video recordings of the entire lesson. Students don’t even need to shower, clean their teeth or put shoes on, and save on transport and time costs!
Available for Double-Bass, Bass Guitar or Music Theory and Harmony.

Fee: $80 per hour (1/2 hour lessons available for 14yrs and younger only)
